We spent a weekend with The Gypsy Fair in Tauranga a couple of weeks ago and parked down at Sulphur Point down by the marina.

A local Maori wood carver created this "Maori stonehenge" (or should that be woodhenge?) down there and the four carvings supposedly represent the four main Maori tribes in the Tauranga area and where they are placed represent compass points.

Princess and I stood at the Northern compass point, seeing as we are based north of Tauranga (and because I wanted shots of the water and Mount Manganui in the back ground!) even though the sun kept shining in our eyes.
